I am interested in the odd, curious, and dark aspects of everyday life. We are all born with a certain unknown about us, and I like to explore that. With each series I bring my own curiosities in life to my photographs for the viewer to see. The subject matter in my work is almost always a person/figure that the viewer can't identify, whether it's because the face is being obstructed by a mask or the subjects head being outside the frame of the photograph.
My work is intended to be open to interpretation, to make the viewer think about the purpose behind my work. Creating emotion in the viewer, whether that emotion is happiness or disgust or just in general uneasiness and curiosity. My work is mostly made in Digital Photography, although I do often dabble in film and pinhole photography.
I draw much of my inspiration from groundbreaking artists like Robert Mapplethorpe, Sally Mann, Francesca Woodman and Richard Avedon.
